Following these instructions using a WGR614v6.
On point 8 it says:
"Configure SSID on wireless router/access point and wireless PCs so that they are the same."

Does this mean manually type "virginmedia62637etc" in the router login page and enter password as well?

You'll need to manually type the values in. Configure it so the SSID, encryption type and password match your existing router.
