Hi,

Hope this is the kind of right section for this.
I have a big box load of old networking kit from previous Internet providers..
Virgin, Sky, BT you name it. Some modems some modem routers etc, mainly older ADSL2+ stuff.
I have zero use for it unless I don't know there is some use for it
It seems a shame just to take down to the tip, so would be keen to learn if there are better ways to make this stuff usable again.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

I doubt there would be any interest even when free - I can give it a try.
I really hope this lot could have a 2nd life somehow, before its going to recycling tip.

Unfortunately a lot of electronic equipment is destined for the tip while it's still usable.

You could try putting it on something like freecycle.org or free on Facebook as there could be someone that can make use of it

The problems with a lot of the ISP provided kit is that it’s cheap and mass produced and often not particularly good.

They give it out for free and replace it with very few questions asked if it goes wrong so it’s out there in abundance.

I’d either contact the suppliers and see if they recycle it or take it to the tip and save yourself worrying about it.

They’re usually locked to the supplier and sometimes to the account so there’s very few people who’d want to take it from you.
