I've had a problem this morning with my pc it wouldn't post at all, no beeps what so ever.
I unplugged the Hard drives still wouldnt post so i pushed the cards and ram down into the board see if that would work, in the end it did post and booted into windows xp pro, but i also had this trouble other day. But today it took a lot longer to post.
As anybody got any thoughts on this problem, was planning on a new system build soon like in january, but if its on its way out i may need to bring a new system build forward to now.

sounds like RAM or HD errors

Memtest and something like MaxBlast (Works with any brand of drive IIRC).

See if you get any errors in them, or, if you have the spares, swap them out (1 part at a time) for known working parts, see if the problem goes away.

its not overclocked and it also did not post this morning i guess it wouldn't do, so i took a 1gb corsair strip out and its booted. But it had a problem in the bios my cpu speed had drop down to 1100 for some reason i save and exit the bios and all booted fine. very strange.

maybe the cmos battery is low - because you say it dropped the cpu speed maybe the bios lost its settings.

try replacing it and setting the fsb to its proper speed for your processor.

I've had same problems, in my case it's the board itself so am now speccing a brand new rig to build shortly, got a good 3-4 yrs out of the board though, been excellent for me

well a update to this problem the nf7-s board is dead now and the old psu had 2 transistors blow in side it, i also tried the new corsair i got today on the mobo but didnt work, but i'm not sure if its blow the new psu also i dont wanna take the risk of blowing a new system i'm building next and using the corsair with it.
