Sometime over the weekend I will be picking up an old Nikon LS-1000 film scanner and the equally old Macintosh computer it is hooked up to via a scuzzy cable. Never used a Mac before but looking forward to getting to grips with it when scanning my slides and then playing with the images via the supplied software. Currently use a a P4 for my surfing and other web related stuff. The Mac does not have fire wire or a DVD/CD writer! So this brings me to the problem of how to archive the data? Would it be better and cheaper to get the Mac to transfer data across to the PC where I have the toys to do the burning to disk, or put a burner in the Mac? The Mac has a 3.2 gig hard drive by the way. Was advised I could put the scuzzy in the PC, but wanted the standalone option of the Mac, with all its useful licensed software that will be on it. Any advise would be useful. Thanks.
