I've just bought an old Onkyo TX-SR505e for next to nothing. I have a Yamaha in the living room, the Onkyo will be for surround sound music when sitting in bed :)
Unfortunately, it being 15 years old or so, it has lost its setup mic and they seem no longer to be available as new OEM parts.
Does anyone have an Onkyo 'hockey puck' setup mic I could buy/rent/borrow/beg? Or a UK source for old stock?
The OEM part number was apparently 1B068MI, seemingly also equivalent/same as MIC-5000 & as 245041

Thank you for being kind enough to read this far :)

Not so, unfortunately: domestic setup systems such as this are calibrated to specific (cheap) microphones. Onkyo once ran a free replacement service after they supplied a batch of amps with an incorrect model mic. I have a Yamaha setup mic & I tried it just for the heck - the result was pretty odd...
A cheap capsule in a little plastic pod will always have a weird frequency response, and a different cheap capsule in a differently shaped pod will have a different weird response curve. The amp don't care as the frequency response is preprogrammed and compensated for - but only if the OEM mic is used.
