old pc games on widescreen lcd

Hey chaps,

just a quick noobie question, just bought a widescreen 20.1" LCD and heard there is a few problems playing older games...such as cs1.6.
Can you tell me what i need to do to avoid problems with cs1.6?

Most of the problems regard running some form of widescreen resolution when games do not natively support it.

Great site that, they've got a list of which games support widescreen and if you have a problem just ask on the forum. CS 1.6 is listed as having native WS support but it also says '-vertical' in the screen change column suggesting it's necessary to vertically reduce your display height, which might not be possible using DVI.
