Old PC New GFX Card

Hey guys, my friend has an old set up:

AMD Phenon x4 (Old Version)
Asus M2N68-AM Mobo
nVidia GTX 250
4GB DDR2 RAM

He currently can play all the games he wants but he wants to get battlefield and run it on mid/high settings (1920x1080)

GFX Upgrade

Would that card work fine for BF3 on mid/high with this system?

p.s. i know it would be better to do a full update but not enough £££

Right.

The GTX550Ti is a bit of a disappointment for a GPU!

I would opt for the 6850. Bit more powerful, but a little more expensive.

Agree with above comment go for the 6850 would be much better for your system and you shouldn't (I say that lightly) experience any bottleneck.

+1 to the 6850. What PSU does he have?

He will need at least 500 watts and at least one 6 pin connector or a 2 x molex to 6 pin connector to run it.

The GTX460 is around the same power, but that needs 2 6pin adapters and uses more power.

6850 all the way xD
