hoping someone can shed some light on what might be best to do here. going through some paperwork I came across an annual statement for a group pension with Clerical Medical, was something that started with a company I used to work with.

Now theirs not much in there as I didn't stay with the company long approx £1700 ish.

but what are my options with this, can I claim the money back, transfer to my current pension, do I leave it and get an extra few k when i retire? BTW I'm only 32 so plenty of time until I retire.

any advise will be appreciated, and hopefully I'll have a better idea of what to do before I call them

Well being as your only 32 you won't be able to have access to it your only options would be either keep it in their in transfer to another pension scheme.

I've got a few pensions with small amounts in (few hundred), I've just left them as thought there would be fee's to transfer making it pointless. Never really looked into it tbh as the amounts are so small but there must be loads of small pension pots that just get forgotten about.

There are also fees to keep it ticking over, not a substantial amount by any means, but if it's more than your current provider and with such a little amount in there, it's normally worth transferring it.
