okey dokey, have been with BT for almost 12 months as my flat had NO LINE whatsoever before...
service costs are killing me, expensive service, but I had no choice.
I've looked around for a new supplier, but had no firm recommendations, so would like to migrate over to a 2 meg service with no caps or decent caps...

Any ideas people?

:)

I recently joined IDNet, their price/cap ratio is excellent. Their customer service is excellent and their reliability is good. Down speeds are also excellent.

Eclipse 2mbps (Flex2000) @ £29.99.

No set caps, no traffic management.

I doubt it'll stay that way for long if all the leechers come over though.

Hi all, I know there's loads of threads but was after a kind of personal recommendation.
Have spent hours trawling through threads.....lol

Thats going to be your problem. Now PlusNet and F2S have put on caps etc, they're going to realise that they're not going to get something for peanuts (doesn't explain why they're leeching though :\), and will go over to a good service like eclipse.

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ is a good site for this stuff. plenty of comparison's and a message board dedicated to finding the right ISP.

another vote for that website. Top notch stuff. I personally have used BT, Tiscali, Nildram and freedom 2 surf (f2s).

I have to say Nildram have THE BEST customer support bar none. I dont care what any surveys say. Nildram is top notch.. always call back asap, and do curtosey calls a week after the fault has been fixed. (the fault i had was a BT one and they chased it up all the time). There performance is always top too.

Freedom 2 surf, have top performance however their customer support is good when you can get through. Afternoons is 15-40 min queues. and they shut at 4:30 or 5:30 some days. Which imo is totally unacceptable. other than that its good.

Tiscali throttle the speed A LOT. At my parents house where i used to live, i could get download speeds as slow as 3kb/sec - WORSE than dial up!!! and 200 ping in games. Personally as an avid online gamer i will never used tiscali again. However for cheap unlimited broadband for the occasional user its alright i guess.

BT. Speeds where ok, tech support was ok. BT yahoo tech support was better than BT imo. Probably the same call center but the queues where definately shorter. And When they say they will give you a discount on your next bill, check your statements. They forget.

I am with F2S atm as its provided by my company. However if i was to pay for an ISP. I would go for nildram.

Just traffic management instead how good for you...

www.multiplay.co.uk have started a new ISP service which looks quite decent and i'm considering downgrading from my now useless 8mbit service with F2S to go with them.

I bet you won'nt be saying that in 6 months :p

Hopefully I will be since its part of a corporate account with ~500 ADSL lines that all require no cap.

But i must repeat myself... If I were to pay for any service I would definately go nildram.
