old rig advice

Hi
I've the rest of my old rig going spair and was going to build up a PC for my nephew
It's c2d e6300 @3.2
3gb ram
Etc etc
All I need for it is a graphics card. Was wondering what's the best value for money card to use with this setup.
No point getting something £100+ as it's not going to be used to it's potential.
I was thinking an old 8800gtx or something would do as its mainly for Minecraft.
Or is there a cheap new card it would be worth getting instead?

A 5770 would beat the 5450 or the other ati cards in this range

For £20 the 5770 is a cracking card

Son still had 4500+6450 plays Minecraft,gmod etc at acceptable level.

I wouldn't really go new as a used card will be considerably better, but if you wanted to go new to save hassle;

Don't b uy new OP and certainly do not buy either of these two cards as they are awful.

Anyway you have a reply in the MM to a 5850 so go with that instead.
