Hope you guys can help. VM have just upgraded my BB service to 60meg but my router only allows 40meg.
The router is an old Netgear RP614V3 and has the latest firmware. It is supposedly 10/100 but will not perform at higher BB speeds.
I know that the spped is provided by the VM modem as it works OK without the router.
Any ideas. I know the router is 10 years old but surely 10/100 should be OK. Please help.

Thanks for the answers. Unless there is a problem I can get a Superhub free of charge from VM.
I am fully hardwired on my network and ironically a cheapy charlie switch I bought years ago passes the speed OK.
I do not require wireless, are there any issues I should be aware of if I ask for the Superhub.

OK, I shall ask VM to send me the Superhub as I only use wired connections and shouldn't suffer the wireless issues that appears to be the main concern.
Another thing that I bump into on my searches re. this piece of equipment is the question about whether to turn on the firewall or not. I assume in my ignorance that I have always had a firewall on my Netgear router. So is it not essential to have it switched on when I change to the SH.
Excuse my ignorance, IT is not my thing. Thanks.

I'd like to push my luck and ask you guys one last question.
If I didn't want to take a chance with the superhub and kept my VMNG300 Modem and just wanted to replace the old Netgear router with one that will handle the 60 meg on offer. I have not got the money for recommended ASUS nor will I need wireless. What "cheap" router would you recommend please.
