Old Samsung SyncMaster P2250 and a new pc?

Both cards have DP / HDMI / DVI connections, no VGA so you would need a DVI / HDMI to VGA adapter, or a DVI to VGA cable. Should work fine have used adaptors in the past.

Removed.

I have adapters which I think I got with graphics cards over the years, don't seem to be able to buy them from OCUK though.

Errr....

If its DVI-D then you cant convert it as there is no analogue signal.

You need to check the specs of the card and see if it has DVI-I to then convert to VGA.

Fair point I assumed the DVI ports would be DL DVI-I, they are not. They are DVI-D on both cards I think, so you would need an active adapter.

Edit: I'm having a bad day. Your Samsung monitor should have a DVI-D input on it. So will work fine using that if it does, With no adaptors. For some reason I thought your monitor had only a VGA input.

If your monitors have DVI-D ports no adaptor needed. A quick google image search for DVI-D will tell you what you are looking for on the back of your monitor.

From having a quick look on the net i'm pretty sure your samsung DOES have DVI-D and i'm pretty sure your LG does NOT. If the LG does not and you want to use it that would require an active adaptor. Note active adptor is not what was linked above, and will be removed to avoid any confusion.

Thank you very much, I believe you are correct. I was looking at
Cable Matters Active HDMI to VGA Male to Female Adapter with 1 Metre USB Power Cable in White
on amazon, for the lG second monitor should this work?

That 'should' work but I can't say for certain maybe someone else can, because i've only used converters on older GPU's. If it doesn't I guess you could always return it under distance selling regs.

A polite nudge to remove the retailer from your message, as it is a direct competitor to OCUK, and advertising competitors is frowned upon.
