hey all, just build another pc with some very old parts which i mite sell as base unit but im not sure yet. I booted it up and had a look around thr bios and things just didnt seem right such as the fsb and other stuff.

I downloaded MBM and cpu-z and come out with these screenshots.

in the first screenshot im not sure if all looks okay, I havnt had this cpu in years and back then i was a super noob so im not sure if this is normal as the temps are high with a good cpu cooler.

what are your thoughts? is there anything im missing or am i just been silly.

Thanks

For a throughbred core that looks to be right, the bartons had more cache with better fsb and were more powerfull anyway so were speed+ rated higher when they were actually similar clock speeds.

Your FSB is 3 short thats why the core is down slightly. I think there is a comprehensive list of Athlon details in the newbie overclocking guide sticky

I have the same chip in a machine and it runs at that very same clock speed by default, as far as I am aware at least.
I have managed to get it to about 1.9 or something around there, but thats about as far as they seem to go, after that just won't boot.
