Hi all,

I'm a old school Pc gamer who has lost touch with what components are best since becoming a console gamer. Well recently I've been thinking about either upgrading my system or buying a complete pre built Pc. I as I have little time to build one.

I'd like to be able to at least play games smoothly at 1080p. So this leads me to a couple of questions. I currently have a e6650 core duo with 2gb ram and a hd5670. Which struggled to run crysis 2. Would upgrading the graphics card be of any use. Or would my cpu bottleneck my Performance?. I'm looking at about £100 for graphics.

Or my last option I'm looking for a system around the £700 to £800 all in including windows. Are there any full systems in the price range that anyone would recommend. I'd like it to be able to play the latest games smoothly with high settings at 1080p

Any help / advice would be appreciated.

Don't worry about build time either. In some ways it's as much fun as actually gaming and beating a level in terms of the "Hell yeah!" feeling when it fires up and takes less time than an evening of gaming!

Thanks guys for the advice. I'll check out the system configurator. Is there much difference performance wise between a amd fx8 and a i5?.
