old sff to use as htpc

ive got an old compaq d500 sff:

p4 skt 478 1.7ghz
512mb sdram
16mb nvidia agp 4x gpu
80 gb maxtor hdd
dvd drive
belkin wireless network card

(planning to add another 512 ram)

-if i put in a 6200 low profile agp gpu do you think it would make a reasonable htpc for dvds/internet?

-if i use said card will it work through a hdmi input on a large lcd using a dvi-hdmi cable?

You may find it struggles with hi def playback on that cpu, probably wont be fast enough. I have an old 2.8ghz laptop behind my 50" sony & it gets choppy sometimes, but for playing normal def stuff with the media portal front end is fine.
