Did anybody else used to love playing these types of games? , i remember playing anvil of dawn for ages or Eye of the beholder... getting creeped out by the sounds of foot steps behind the grated door

yep played most of them. Stonekeep, Eye of Beholder series superb :)

innovative motion-capture style graphics of stonekeep were (and still are in a way) awesome :)

personaly i realy enjoyed Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol. fantastic game, never compleated it though, thinking about this though, i may try install it again, or one of the newer graphics UI for it.

My favourites have already been mentioned.

I think Dungeon Master and Eye Of The Beholder were terrific. I completed Dungeon Master 2 and that was okay but still not a patch on Dungeon Master.

Other than that some other favourites are:

Bloodwych

Blatant rip off from Dungeon Master but done really well. The two player simultaneously made it excellent!

The Bards Tale
http://hol.abime.net/38
Got a bit boring at times but still a good storyline

Pools Of Radiance

Originally played this on a C64 but still good on the Amiga

I remember trying a demo of Mordor 2: Darkness Awakening and really loving it. But I was abusing the backup feature, as the death system was fairly hardcore. When I looked at buying it, it was out of production as a sequel was in the works.

Ended up getting Demise: Rise of the Ku'Tan, but didn't havet he same hold over me as the simplier Mordor.

Another favourite of mine was Xenomorph. The sound on this game was very minimal, but it worked out well as for the most part you were exploring an abandoned mining base.

Purpose of the game was to find replacement fuel, new circuit chips, and navigation disk.

Don't forget the Dungeon Master semi-sequel : Chaos Strikes Back.

It was much, much better than DM2 as far as I'm concerned. Still used the DM1 engine, but had some of the nastiest, most evil levels and puzzles ever. Well worth a look if you've played DM1 to death. You used to be able to pick it up free here :

Don't know if you still can though, can't get to the site from work.

Site works fine for me.

Must admit that I prefer Dungeon Master due to the fact that CSB was ridiculously hard - constantly being spun around and not really having a path to follow was a nightmare. Even if you completed an area it never closed it off so you could revisit the area over and over again!

I even had a save game with the strongest possible characters on there - and still got wiped out! I do play it on an original Amiga as well which does help.
