Bigger box!
Hi,

I like the look of the Wii. I'm considdering getting my six year old one, not decided if she's too young yet though.........

Anyway. I'm thinking. When the sprog is in bed and i feel like having a cheeky play. Do i really have to stand there waving my arms about like a burk??

I'd much rather use a 'classic' controller for games. I know there is one but can it be used with all games??
Yes, i do realise that you can use subltle movements and don't have to flail around like in the adverts, but i'm a miserable old stick and i'd much prefer not to have to do any of that old bunf and simply use a good old fashioned controller.

So what's the word?

Cheers

Nope you can't there maybe games (like Super Smash Bros Brawl, that have been quoted to say don't throw away your GC Controllers). But Wii Sports and Zelda both need you to use the Wiimote.

Really can't imagine how to play Wii Sports with the Classic Controller (yes I am aware that there have been plenty of tennis, boxing, bowling, golf and baseball games out there) but it'd be hard to emulate the function of the Wiimote in Wii sports on a classic controller. As for Zelda, if you want to play it classic style just get the GC version, and a GC Controller if you don't have one.

Chris, seriously, once you've played it you'll really enjoy it. I was worried it would ruin Zelda, or that I'd miss out with the altered controls... You really don't. Aiming with the bow etc is really so much easier and immersive, swinging the sword is natural, deflecting blows with your shield, fighting on horseback... the lot. It's just better - certainly in Zelda. The potential is huge for other games too; think a more detailed Tennis or Golf.

That, and with the Wiimote/nunchuck being separate, it lends itself to a new lazier method of play (I sometimes even sit with my nunchuck hand behind my head lol).
