"Old Skool" overclocking :)

Right, i'm getting bored... as i very frequently do

somebody told me to take up a hobby, but i already have plenty, overclocking being one of them (if that counts)

i'm looking to buy/put together a really old school system (under a Ghz somewhere around the 800mhz mark) on the cheap, to overclock and just have some fun with... push it till it squeals etc.

what are the best last gen boards and chips for clocking?

hey, thats not old school!!!

ive got that lan part motherboard! and its my main rig still going strong at around 2500mhz

thats a tad too new school for my liking, especially buying the best cooler on the market for it

i guess i could just get some more for this machine and push it a little further
i stopped pushing this one when it didnt boot for a day because of over-overclocking

thats why i want an old machine, so that i can push it without worrying about it kicking the bucket completely.

i'm really tempted by that cheap NF2 board now

you can pick up durons on the bay for a fiver... so no harm there

was looking at that, but there isn't really a point cause you'll never get very far, how many boards did 133mhz bus? and arent K6 chips locket at 6 multi max?

most likely going to take the board and chip from chex... found the volt mods for that board... so will whack a nice big HS on the lot and give it some volts
