Hi,
I have an Msi P55-GD65 with an i5-750 (both about a year old). Thinking about upgrading to the new 1156-i7, will my existing DDR3 1600mhz memory and Corsair H50 cooler be a straight fit to the new LGA1155 mobo?

Have't done much reading yet to see if it's actually worth upgrading but wondering how many parts would need upgrading. DOn't mind ditching the H50 actually, think I may go back to a traditional air cooler - find the H50 a bit noisey at times and the rad needs a clean quite often (it's on 24-7)

No. If I had a Core i5 750 I wouldn't bother TBH.
