old sound card or supplied with mobo

not sure which is better, sold my old pc but nabbed the creative SB augidy 2 from it. now im buying an asus x38

now is the sound card from this better than my audigy2? will be used on creative 5.1 speakers for mp3, dvds and gaming in surround sound.

The on-board solution will probably be ok but i strongly believe that the Audigy2 will provide sound better quality than the on-board solution. In addition since you are playing games the on-board solution will not support EAX while gaming.

Audigy 2 is better, in my opinion.
