I have one of the original g15 keyboards (the nice blue one) and the previous track key has stuck in, i can't run any media player as it just freezes up due to this,

I presume logitech will RMA it for me but will i end up with one of the horrible orange ones?

i dont think they make blue g15s so all rmas are orange,

is the button physically stuck or is it the electronics that is faulty?

if its physically stuck, have you tried opening it to see if you can do anything about it. if not then i think you have to live with it or RMA it

It's probably still ok but they've put a worse LCD on it, theres less buttons and orange probably doesn't go with as many peoples setups :p

The volume dial is the thing i would miss the most tbh, plus i like the size of the old style one, also the screen doesnt have a tilt function on the new one and i like to stand it up so i can see it from my bed

ouch how did you manage that? You have two options
1. live with it
2. or fix it yourself, all you need to do is unscrew it (looking at the bottom of mine there are more than a dozen screws)

orange is not a viable option

lol, i was just skipping through tracks as i was bored but i heard one i liked so went to go back but it kept going back right to the start of my playlist,

I can't put up with it as everytime i boot up a media player it jumps around my playlist like crazy and then locks up :(

the button is physically stuck, i didn't want to open it up as wouldn't that void my warranty

You should open it up, there isn't any warranty stickers on any keyboards I've owned, and it's not like you're tampering with it, you're fixing a problem that shouldn't be there. Ethically, in my opinion, if you opened it, fixed the button, and then it broke at a later date due to a hardware fault, it would be ok to RMA as you haven't broken it due to misuse. :)

Just been on the phone to logitech, they are gonna send me a crappy orange one :( but on the plus side they said i only need to send off the usb end bit from my current keyboard, so this means i can have a play with it and see if i can get it working

Personally after having both the new and old, I much prefer the newer one. It not like the difference between the MX510 and the MX518.

However as you just need to send the usb end you may aswell take apart and try to fix it
