Iam planning on using old off my old components and connecting them upto a new motherboard on doing so will the board recognize everything ok or will I play about with things to set it all up again?

Yeah will be getting a board similar to the DSP3. Wasnt to sure if I would have problems with the OS already been installed on 1 of the HDD's, thought I may have to start from scratch again.

Thinking about it now, thats going to be a pain as I think I left some documents on the desktop instead of moving them onto the D drive.

Plug it in (if its sata that is, if its IDE make sure you set the master/slave as appropriate first), turn your PC on and go in to the bios and make sure the boot order is correct and boot up :)

Ere, its SATA so no problem there. Will just have to hunt out a SATA-power connector.

I dont think I would have to change the boot order shouldnt it just boot from where it does normally and ignore the other drive with the vista OS on it?

Ive brought a new mobo because iam sure my old one has had it. Its either that or the CPU. You may have read my prevoius threads about my problems.

Sorry to harp but this is by far the best place to come for help, and I would rather take more take more time and ask for guidance rather that rush into things.

Would it be best to connect my new mobo up and just connect the PSU and CPU and see if it boots ok? As I done this with my old board and it wasnt booting.

Don't think my case has a speaker, to be honest I didn't know they came with one. Will connect up my speakers.

I want to fit my noctua heatsink if it fits, do you think I should try the stock heatskink first?

Found the speaker by the way, it was hidden away at the bottom.

Well anyway, finally getting somewhere. Fitted the PSU, CPU, Noctua, RAM and Graphics card and just powered it up and the Noctua fan is spining, and the light on the mobo is on. Only slight problem was I got one beep followed by to short beeps, but iam guessing that maybe because the system isnt fully finished yet, or I may need to swap the RAM around.

So I guess I was right and had a bust gigabyte board.
