Hi,

I'm after a bit of advice, my mate has a pc which struggling with the latest games. Trouble is its a agp system and cash is a bit limited. So I was just looking at the fastest agp card out for around £80, which was this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...12MB DDR2 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (AGP) - Retail

I've got limited knowledge of the ati side of things so not sure how decent it is? Or if his cpu would bottleneck?

His current system is:

Athlon 64 3800 x2
Asus av8 agp mb
2 gig (forget if its ddr1 or 2?)
6800 ultra 256

Any suggestions? maybe spending a bit more if needed.

Oh and just noticed the christmas smiles are back so :):p

Do you think that card would be ok for most games? at 1024*768, and also would the cpu he has be ok for it?
Thanks

Get a cheap second hand s939 PCI-E motherboard as Hades suggested, and sell the current one. This way at least you have a much larger option of 'good' gfx cards available to you.

2GB ram should be fine with that system. Later on you could sell the cpu and go for maybe an Athlon X2 4800 and then overclock it.
