Just having some more problems with an old system I sorted for someone in work the other day.

After it came back to me and not started up, I replaced the PSU and all was ok. It's now come back to me again, saying it won't start up.

I've looked at it, lights come on (although the power switch at the front doesn't do anything), cd drives spin up but there is no display. I've taken the card and ram out and there is no POST beep, so could it be a dead board or something?

Yea sounds like a dead motherboard, try using only 1 stick of ram, I tend to take everything out and see if the motherboard beeps up on powering up, in my expeience most motherboards will beep if it detects if theres no ram and gpu, which in the case definately motherboard is dead.

yep taken out ram and gfx card. just put gfx back in and still no beeps, although got red and green light on the mobo. CPU fan spins up ok and therefore getting power from the board
