Old vs Midrange GFX?

I don't play a lot of games, but occasionally like a blast of LFD2 or Dirt or the like. I currently have a 1650 monitor, but might move to 1920 reasonably soon.

I currently have a Radeon 4850 which does pretty much everything I need, albeit with the occasional struggle. However, the cooling solution is getting a little old, and I'm tempted to upgrade to something newer.

How would something something like a HD 7750 1GB like http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-298-SP compare in performance to my old 4850 do you think?

According to anadtech perf is about the same, though obviously the 7750 is DX11 and lower power consumption: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/513?vs=535

Do you have a budget in mind?

You could get some real gems 2nd hand for ~£100, hell, you'd probably snag a GTX580 for ~£130-150 or 6950 for ~£90-100

I was looking to keep the price under £100 if possible, and was quite attracted to the idea of low power consumption and noise balanced against performance.

For a silent card you will need good airflow in your case you could get a 7770 and set up your own fan profile to keep it quiet.

At stock it appears around 10-15% quicker, though iirc the 7770's can be excellent clockers so you should be able to extend that to 30%+
