ive got one of the first lot of 360s with hard drive which will 3 years ish old and is very noisy and currently conncted via vga.

my question is are there any benefits ti changing to 360 elite?

Well, with a bigger hard drive you could install more games onto it, this pretty much negates the main offender for noise on the 360 (the disk drive). HDMI won't be much different from VGA if at all.

That said unless you have your heart set on the 120gb drive then an elite is not worth the money.

Just get the 60gb pro system, since they added hdmi to it the only difference between them now is the HD size and the color.

I have a 120 on mine and even tho I own over 50 games my drive is never more than half full anyway since games i don't play for a while get deleted from the drive.

This is true tbh, i've installed two games to my harddrive on a 60gig and there's more than enough room for a few more and some DLC.

My elite is much quieter than my first 360 but their noise levels can be pretty random. The newer chipsets are more reliable which will be an added benefit + much more hard drive space. I personally think the black 360 looks a million times better than white as well. If you have the money then I don't see why you couldn’t sell your old one and put towards an elite, if you're skint though then it is just more of a sideways step.

ok cheers guys. i must admit part of the reason in wanting to change is mine is white and all my other av kit is black and thought the elite would match better, but the noise is the main issue.

i would prefer it to be hdmi as i could cut down one more cable at the rear of my amp and tv.

how much would i get for my old console. if not that much id just stick in my bedroom.

also a side question is it possible to transfer all game saves to a new system?

There are a few systems to copy saves over.

HDD Transfer kit as already mentioned.

You can pick up a memory unit and transfer the saves to that and then onto your new box. the other advantage there is it gives you something to carry your profile on if you go over to a mates and play on their boxes or you can keep a backup of saves just to be safe.

You can get units that you plug into a PC to let you copy the stuff off the drive to the PC and then back to the new drive.

And the most extreme is to disassemble the drive casing and plug the HD direct into the PC to do the copying.
