Old Xbox360 death need to swap Xbox live help

Hi all,

First time in this part of the forums

my sons 360 has the 3 rings of death and this Christmas we got him a Xbox live gold for 12 months

so I have an Xbox 360 in living room that I do not use.
So can I swop over his Xbox live to my 360? And give that unit.

Recover gamertag will get the account over, but game saves on the old hard drive will have to be swapped over with a transfer cable

Even easier HDD on to new xbox, memory stick in the usb port copy over saves and live account and bang good to go
