Wow, they're showing "Oldboy" on channel 4. I'm impressed. Oldboy is one of my all-time favourite movies. Superbly twisted, and fantastic plot/character development thoughout. :cool:

Never thought I'd see this one on British TV.
 
and relies on violence. Although again, thats not true to all (I quite enjoy a few studio ghibli films!).

That is an interesting point. Only the other day I was discussing with a friend how most westerners couldn't even name a single Japanese non-animated movie which isn't violent.

There is a big difference between the things which are actually popular in east asia, and the things we hear about over here.
 
Cool, not my normal type of film and subtitles normally annoy me but with all its hype i can't not watch it.

May record oldboy on channel 4 +1

Although, I should warn you... It's probably not a great movie to watch if you've had a few beers or are tired. It may look like a fairytale, but it's a little more complicated than that. It actually helps if you have an existing knowledge of the Spanish civil war.
