Hi all,

Does anybody know how to unlock voltage control on an XFX 7970 DD? I've got the latest MSI Afterburner, but while ticking the extended overclocking limits options opens up the clock rates I can set, ticking the unlock voltage control box doesn't seem to open that up.

Any ideas?

Trixx did let you add some voltage, should still do, if it doesn't use an older one.

Failing that make your own bios and set a higher voltage yourself.

Shanks, there was different revisions, geussing yours were the original run, later revisions had voltage locked down, mine wasnt refrence it had different vrms.

This isn't true at all. I used to have two XFX DD 7950's and both had Voltage control. At the time I had to unlock the voltage with MSI AB then I had full control up to 1.3

Sure yours were the non ref ones though? Mine was the reference one pcb and that had voltage control also but i remember reading at the time voltage control was disabled on their cards, which i assume is their non ref PCBs.

When i first bought mine voltage control didnt work in AB so i just vmodded it but in a later release it was working fine.

edit.. ah nvm sumone already mentioned it, ^ ^, serves me right for clicking reply then going to make a cuppa.
