Is it just me or as cats get older they get a lot more cuddly and very VERY vocal?

My cat Molly has always been a character, we had her at 6 months and shes now about 6/7ish, and over the past few months since we moved last year.. she comes in at night and sits at the top of the stairs and just meows at the top of her voice untill someone comes to the door and calls her.. where as she always just used to sleep on the landing.. at the minite she is sleeping on my right leg without a care in the world..

a lot of the time its almost as if she just wants a bit of re-assurance that shes loved.. anyone notice this with their cats?

My cat, Parker, did exactly the same. Although in his later years, between 15 and 19 years old he mellowed and took to just plonking himself down anywhere to sleep.

Our kitten Clive is an attention whore, and sometimes just runs around the house meowing at the top of his lungs.

I swear I can connect/communicate with him somehow, ill like do something and hell look at me and i can almost imagine what hes saying, and sometimes..

I dunno, im tired, descided to to delte for your entertainment *facepalm*

My cat didn't like people :p
Although when she was getting on a bit, around 21 or 22 she started to depend on people to do things for her since her mobility was severly reduced.

Our cat, Perry, is an 18 year old half Burmese. His always weird and loud meow is now weirder and much much louder. My wife says its because he's deaf!

Another advantage of his advancing years is that when he pees on the kitchen bin, it doesn't smell anymore:eek:
