Morning all!

Put a 6700xt in my online basket and a couple of other bits and left it. Next day went to complete the order and the card was now on pre-order and had jumped 20% in price.

I'm very much not up to date with GPU markets etc. Is there a general price rise going on /expected for some older cards for any reason? Or perhaps more specific to the supply of that actual card?

Ta.

Probably just how the pricing works.

Say there are 100 units priced at 300 that came in as a deal, once they sell through the price reverts back to the previous stock where there could be 10 more units that were bought at a higher price so are set to sell at a higher price otherwise OC would automatically make a loss on the old stock.

Less buyers at the higher price, but still some.

The 6700xt price is up and down like a yoyo particularly I would say. It's been available for £300, £338 and £359 now for the Sapphire pulse.

It'll just depend on what they buy their stock in at and what the exchange rate is to an extent - so it'll go up and down per batch unless the manufacturer perhaps supports a deal.

IMO you'd need to be wearing a clown suit to buy that card at £359. It's end of line and they are clearing old stock. I suspect stocks are drying up now because more and more retailers are either removing the 6700xt or it's out of stock for longer periods of time.

The 7900 XT has been something like £700, £730, £760 and now £800 in just a few weeks, if you see a good deal buy it, if you're getting a bad deal dump it.

Ta! I don't really want to be paying north of £300 for the card and it ticks the boxes to pair with a final CPU upgrade for my AM4 board to last me another few years.

I'll keep an eye out!

I work for a system integrator and most of the kit is priced in US dollars. This can cause a huge difference in price.
