I'm looking to clone my C: drive onto a larger SSD and also transfer my steam drive (currently on a separate d: drive) to a second larger SSD. Is there any good free hardware that will do this? I'm looking at AOMEIBackUp but have no idea whether this will get the job done? Can I just copy and paste the d: drive or do I need to clone it too?

To clone your C: drive to a new SSD, then the best tool is probably Macrium Reflect https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

Attach the new drive as well as the existing drive and start Macrium Reflect:
- select the existing SSD and select "clone this disk"
- select the new SSD as the destination
- once complete shutdown and then disconnect the existing SSD
- should then be able to boot up via the new SSD

In regards to moving your Steam folder, you don't need software to clone it, Steam has some options for this (either moving the whole library, or creating a new library and moving individual games)

See "How do I move my existing Steam Installation?" in the below link

Another vote for Macrium reflect. Their youtube guide is handy for your first time.

The only thing that isn't clear is about expanding on to a larger drive. Rather than click "copy selected partitions" as the video does, if you want to expand a partition you have to manually drag each partition down as shown ~1:10. You can then put the partition you want to expand last and then follow the video for expanding it in to the empty space.
