Right peeps my son was given a laptop Acer Aspire 1681LCi quite old but in good working condition hard drive had been fully wiped. So l installed Vista Home Basic, Vista installed all drivers except two. I found one no prob’s but having trouble getting the ACPI Drivers for Vista, have looked on Acer’s website no joy. Done a search with Google and tried various suggestions, etc but again no joy the laptop is defiantly ACPI. Hope to get this problem solved as the laptop is going to are little niece, as it will make a good first PC for her.

Cheers.
Oldphart.

Possibly try..

Go to Device Manager, double click on "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC", go to driver, then update driver, Browse my Computer for driver software, then "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my pc" and then select: "ACPI x86-based pc"

Let windows install the software and restart.

I may be wrong, more than likely but hey :) its a try
