Hi Guys

I use my monitor for gaming playing COD and borderlands and also spreadsheets, PowerPoint and outlook when working from home. I want to upgrade as my Dell is only 65hz. I was looking at OLED but have heard it’s not a great idea due to screen burn and blurry text. Is this the case?
What would be a good upgrade IPS monitor for the Dell max £400?

Thanks

I have the AW3423DWF and most of my usage is office work (Outlook, Teams, Excel etc)

I’ve had no issues with blurry text or burn in.

I make sure to run the pixel refresh every 4 hours. Yes it’s a pain that the screen goes off for a while but it’s a good reminder to get up and get some water or out of the chair.

I have zero regrets.

Everytime you run pixel refresher you reduce the lifespan of the panel. It's like overdriving the pixels.

Typically pixel refresh is run every 2000-4000 hours.

The text on my LG C3 is fine, I do plenty of work days on it and there are a number of steps you can take to minimise the risk of burn in. So far so good. I’ve kind of accepted that it could become an issue over the years, at which point I’ll replace it with better tech.

NO on dell screens,
Pixel Refresh happens every 4 hours and is normal!! there's no way to disable it, it happens when you turn the monitor off.

Panel Refresh should never be triggered manually because it overdrives fading pixels.

@Casdawer 7000 hours may be different for your screen, This is from my AW3225QF manual.

NEVER DO PANEL REFRESH MANUALLY, and just let pixel refresh keep doing it's thing

7000 hours @ 24/7 usage is about 290 days.

Panel Refresh somehow calculates which pixels have faded over time and then changes the voltage or whatever to bring them back inline with how they should be.
