oled laptop - bad idea?

screen burn only occurs if you have it on 1 page most of the time,

no point going for a oled laptop, screen not large enough to really notice - honestly for a oled its more for tv's - you need a 45 inch or above to properly notice.

also your battery does really reduce by 40-55% with a oled.

If your not a graphics designer - just go with a 2k laptop

I tried an OLED display in an Alienware Laptop, and whilst it was stunning to look at - I felt the tech was better suited for TV and not quite ready for laptops as there were too many cons:

Display limited to 60Hz
PWM Flicker (this may cause headaches)
OLED only offered on 15" displays -- screen too small to get real benefit.
No MUX Switch on OLED laptops
No GSync support on OLED laptops using built in OLED display.
Batter drain / poor battery performance due to extra power needed for OLED display.

I swicthed to the Legion 5 Pro that has a 2K IPS panel, runs at 165Hz, No PWM, comes with a MUX and Gsync.
Some of the points raised may not be of interest to you (MUX, Gsync) as these are more gamer focused features.

If you're gaming or have any kind of static image anywhere on the screen for long periods you're going to risk damage with an oled screen.
