Just wondering when OLED monitors will start to appear on the market.

To me this technology seems the logical upgrade path to my 27" IPS Hazro monitor (which I am happy with). I did try a couple of Samsung S27B970D's but the backlighting was truly awful on both of them so given up with that upgrade path! Not to mention the blacks was not very good either (and that's after calibrating them). Can't say I was that impressed with PLS panels. IPS looks better out of the two.

With Samsung and LG promoting large OLED tv's surely some decent 27" OLED monitors can't be too far away now?

:)

I wouldn't hold your breath given the TVs are selling at £7000. They do look amazing, but sensible pricing is probably a couple of years away, and only if other players come into the market. Right now LG and Samsung can charge what they want and are selling loads, so they've got no reason to make cheaper selling products.

We'll they are coming down in price. You can get the LG 55EA980W Curved 3D OLED Television for £4999 which I would rather have over the ugly samsung equivalent.

Panasonic and Sony have just ended their agreement to work on reducing the cost of OLED having failed to do so as they both see 4k as the more likely commercial success in the short to medium term, it could be a long while before we see reasonably priced oled anything
