Oled vs ss ips

I use mine for both! My AW2725Q is used as a full work monitor in the day and then gaming in the evening/weekends - no issues at all. I have a 3 year warranty with Dell which I would use if I ever got burn in or any issues, I hide my desktop icons (don't tend to bother with task bar) and then just use it like a regular monitor.

It definitely varies from person to person as to how comfortable you are with it - but I also tend to upgrade my monitors every 3 or so years anyway as the tech moves.

I think the last thing you mention is a key factor. Most people who are going to buy OLED will update their gear often. Three years is a very long time. One of my monitors has it's third birthday in seven months time and I have already been thinking about replacing it. It hasn't even got any burn-in. :)

Problem is for LED, most are edge lit. I don't like them at all, I prefer the old backlight types. They provided a more even light source.

Not sure about OLED yet for monitors, still a bit expensive., plus QD OLED poor text and purple effect when ambiant light level (a bit like the Plasma grey when it's in the slightly lit room)

This is my dilemma too. I WFH as a software developer, and really can't afford to have any eye-strain issues. Some say it's not an issue, but I don't really want to take the chance. It wouldn't even be a topic of conversation if it didn't affect some monitors/people worse than others.

There is a solution to this. MacType. I covered this in a thread on this forum. It works very well, BUT, same as Windows, you can only have one profile per PC, so it's useless for multi-monitor systems.
