Hi,

I have started to look around for a new TV, was going to spend £7-800 for something along the lines of the Samsung MU7000 (55").

I can however pick up an LG OLED (B7) for just shy of £1200. Is it worth the extra ~40% at this point, or should I get a cheaper set as planned and upgrade to OLED or whatever else is around in the next 3/4 years time?

Is that with a five year warranty? If not, I’d pay the extra for it.

And, yeah, it’s excellent.

For that price yes yes yes, you won’t regret it. Slap Blue Planet 2 on in UHD on the inbuilt bbc iplayer, then literally cry in its beauty.

Absolutely. My B7 is the first TV I've owned since crt days that I'm completely happy with.

Yep, me too.

Got a 65" Samsung LCD about 5 years ago and it had terrible vertical banding. Swapped it for a Samsung 64" plasma which I've had for the past 5 years, it's generally been good but there is always a slight buzz from it which has bugged my happiness. Got the 65" LG B7 last week and it is stunning. No complaints whatsoever.
