It seemed like a lot of sandbagging in the heats, especially on the backstroke but perhaps not as much sandbagging as I thought. He really was well behind there.

Good effort. From the sounds of it the field is a lot stronger this year in the 400 so a very good result.

800m is her stronger event anyway so I think she's got a good chance of gold in that one.

Pfft that Franklin is a freak! 15mins after a semi and she wins.

Fair play to Spofforth though, decent swim that. Reading up on her last couple of years, it's a pretty damn good comeback.

We seem to be just missing out at the moment. Hopefully something will click in the next couple of days and start picking up some more medals.

Edit: Sounds like one through but I don't think there is much hope of a medal in this event.
