Am a newbie photographer who went and bought an expensive twin lense DSLR :)

However after inspecting the Camera (e-510) I saw that all the items in the box says its made in China :(

Isnt Olympus a Japanese Company, are other brand DSLR also made in China.

Am deeply disapointed and wanted to know if this is normal

Thanks in advance

Nikon is also a Japanese company but my D40x is made in Thailand.
I wish i got a made in japan model, as the ones from thailand are rubbish, damnn... :(
[/sarcasm]

Correct me if im wrong but the top range Pro DSLR's are probably also made in China.

They're made in china coz labour and materials are cheap there (im no economy expert or whatever but thats what i think.)

JUST TAKE PHOTOS DAMNIT!! :D

Seriously, don't worry. Everything is made in China these days (well, apart from a few electronics/cameras/lenses etc). It's not as bad as it used to be! Olympus are hardly going to send out all their gear substandardly finished, they've a reputation to uphold.

It's only built in China to save money for Olympus, and in turn to have a more attractive price for you, the buyer.

With Canon it's the cheaper stuff that's made in China. For example the 430EX is but the 580EX isn't. I'm pretty sure all their DSLR are Japanese.

well I did buy it cheap, but a bit disappointed its made in china, thought it would be japanese for that price hehehe
