Just love this just acquired camera,I have the kit lens and awaiting the 17mm freebie.thanks to the peeps who recommended this camera.i have 2 questions.
1.any tips on setup etc, anything hidden in the menus that needs turning on/off etc?
2.What lenses should I eventually be aiming for,my interests are street and nature, pets etc.?
Thanks for any help.

I assume you mean E-PL5?

First thing to do is enable the Super Control Panel and Custom Menu - http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/53-epl5-scp.html

As for lenses, spend a while playing with the kit and 17mm 2.8 until you get an idea of how they're limiting you, then you'll be able to make a better decision on upgrades/additions.

The Olympus 12-50 (kit lens from the E-M5) might be a good early upgrade - it isn't spectacularly fast, but its got a slightly broader focal range than the 14-42, a useable semi-macro mode and an electronic zoom which is handy if you're interested in video. They go for ~£100 second hand, you could flog the 14-42 for ~£50 and upgrade for not much money. Only downside is its a little larger and heavier, but not excessively.

The Olympus 40-150 is a very inexpensive lens with a good range for pets, zoos etc, although still too short for actual wildlife (you'll probably want the 100-300 for that).

The 17mm 2.8 prime will make a good starter lens for street stuff, but you may want to upgrade it to one of the other high quality primes, of which there is a large selection depending on what sort of focal length you prefer.

^ some good advice there, glad your liking the camera. As king has said see what focal lengths you like using the kit lens the maybe think about getting a good fast prime. Take a look at lumix 20mm 1.7, olympus 25mm 1.8, lumix 25mm 1.4 and olympus 45mm 1.8 all these are fantastic lenses and will give you faster focusing, much better detail and the lovely shallow dof effect.
Also shoot in raw and get a post processing package like lightroom so you tinker with the images when you get home.
