good morning all

i need a hand/advice.
went on holiday a couple of months ago.. i took a long my canon 60d(with the 70-200l f4) and the olympus em5 (75-300mm).
took some lovely photos on both. but i have notice that with the em5 when zooming into photos a bit closer (100%) the photos look noise..
let me know if this is normal or my eyes are deceiving me..
photo 1 is with the 60d
and photo 2 is with the em5. (please zoom onto the bird)

I can see the noise without needing to zoom into the picture, so I can see what you're referring too. Its normally caused by high ISO. The easiest way to deal with it is to manually set the ISO to 100 and then use Aperture or Shutter Value which will then automatically adjust the values. If you're using manual move, reduce the F/stop and slow the shutter speed a little but not too much that it blurs.

hi thanks for the reply.. but surely with only iso 1000 it still should ok? thought the em5 had decent iso performance?

1k is still quite high and without reducing it in post processing it will still be visible, depending how far you zoom in. 800 would be better.

Does your camera have a setting to reduce noise on high-iso? I know I have to disable it on my Canon as its pretty much useless to be honest.
