A place called Omega Sektor opened in Birmingham this weekend, it's basically a LAN gaming centre with 440 high-end pc's all with Razer Tarantula Advanced Gaming Keyboards and a lot of them had large widscreen displays.

I was in there today and had my ass handed to me on UT2004 by the UT2004 UK champion who took on 30 player at the same time in team deathmatch and won 60-2, There is also a room dedicated to Xbox 360 and a place to play PS3 on a 200 inch screen and a chillout room with a bar it was an excellent setup.

Their website is awful. Someone linked to it on another forum and after reading their site I had -no- idea what it was. All style no substance. :(

Been reading up on this and it sounds pretty damn cool. I hear one is opening in London soon. I help run the gaming society at my uni and i might have to try and get a trip organised to go i think. Agreed though, their site is just rubbish

I was speaking to the superviser and he told me that they plan to hire out the V.I.P. area to large groups of friends at a cost of £15 per person and they will be able to play into the early hours ( I think he said around 7 hours of play), maybe we could make it an OCUK meet a couple of times a year?

wouldnt be a bad idea, ocuk lan at omega sektor :)

The place is only 5 minutes walk from Newstreet station and you just walk down the one road past Rackhams untill you get to it so it's easy enough to find (It's used to be Virgin Megastore).

They also intend to hire out the V.I.P. areas to companies for things like team building exercises, I will have to suggest it to my company as it's gotta be better than building a raft out of junk (well to me it is anyway but some of you might find that appealing).

I heard you could drink in there too?

Aye, fully licensed bar which you can enter for free with a HUGE screen and loads of bean bags to just chill out on (all on a soft cushy floor as well!).

They should have one in Cardiff. :) Though if there is one Call of Duty is a must, welsh people like this game. :D :D
