Hi All,

My sons got an Omen 30L and recently started playing COD and it sounds like it's going to take off.

Temps are also high, hitting 90c on a regular basis.

From looking online this seems to be quite common and so I'm looking at improving the cooling.

This is where I would appreciate some advice.

Has any one done this before on a 30L and what did you change?

Im thinking of swapping the CPU cooler to a Crossair H60, what do you think?

Can I also add ti or upgrade and the case fans and what would you suggest?

Thank you for you assistance

Lee.

I'd start with overall case air flow. If the CPU cooler and graphics card are just pushing warm air around then that's the first issue to address.

Install hwinfo64 have that running while gaming you will be able to see what the temps / fan speeds are like so you get an idea about what improvements can be made.
Thank you gents.

From what Ive read the case isn't the best for airflow.

Thought I would change a few fans first as he likes the case.

And then if no improvement think about moving everything over to a new case as a last resort.

From what I've read it' appears to be a known issue with the i9 Omen.

I was hoping there might be a few members on here who have done what I'm planning to and they could share what they upgraded too and give any pointers.

I will give hwinfo64 ago and let you know the results.

Thanks again.

It has an i9? Which generation?

What are they like when gaming?

Knowing what these kind of PCs are like, it probably has the cooling of just a 65 watt CPU like a 10400. If it is possible to configure, I'd try changing the power limits, moving down to e.g. 65 watt (PL1) and 95 watt (PL2) and see what happens.
