Met up with a few guys from SWERC (southwest of england rhino club) for one of their trials.
Brilliant fun, met loads of new faces and realised how bad my offroad driving really is! Got plenty of pointers and one of the guys sat in with me and gave me a few basic lessons on engine control (if he showed me everything i'd been doing wrong, he'd never finish!)
Impressed with the capability of the SJ, i went through a few patches of pure sludge and the zuke barely slowed. Going in a straight line was an altogether different matter though, i learned that the "point it where you WANT to go" method doesn't work on mud, "point it where you have traction and hope you can change it" seems more accurate.
This is the first time my zuke has been used "in anger" in about 3 years, don't think i'll wait so long next time.
