I was up in london on business this lunchtime and I got a text from my wife "failed bank job at hsbc, 2 robbers dead and 1 on the run".

She knows I'm a news junkie plus she worries if I'm in the thick of it (I was supposed to be in london on 7/7 and 21/7 both meetings got cancelled) so I replied "crikey thats a bit extreme, whereabouts?"

and I got back.. "no, I mean at HSBC... here"

This is as close in as multimap will go.. its about 150m.

Roads closed, forensics teams everywhere, white tents in the middle of the road, camera teams.. its all freaking me out a bit. Nothing EVER happens here!

So any news on how they died? I didn't think that the small branches like this hold much money? Not enough to risk your life for anyway!

seems they were after a securicor van but the feds got a tip off and were waiting in the public loos that are about 15m away from where they were killed.

clearly not in the same league but you do appear to live in NI which has a rather more troubled past than southern hampshire.

:p i would agree there. God i remember the time they blew up a car bomb in armagh, it was such a big bomb it sent shock waves through our house 4 miles away.

Think it was well into 1800-2000lb as it levelled half the street.

I laughed at this, Coz they got shot, and then they went and tried to revive them . . . Serves them right. But why try and revive them?

They would have sued the police if they had lived for damages.

First these two, for which you conveniently weren't there...

And now the bank job which coincidentally happen the one time when you actually WERE in London...

Anyone think this guy has WAY TOO MANY convenient allibis? :p ;)

You think being in London at the time of 7/7 and 21/7 is bad, the guy who created Family Guy missed his flight by being 10 minutes late and it was one of the planes that went into the twin towers!

Or the time of the M'hill bombing. i was in primary school and when it went off which is about 150m - 200m away from where it went off. Bad times.
