Ive just bought the following:
World Of Warcraft Battle Chest
Wrath Of The Lich King+ Guide

Im doomed now:p

As a newish starter, i have played a bit of the game had a guest pass, where should i begin, heres some questions:

1. What server? I like the idea of pvp so maybe something like that.

2. Whats the best race and funnest class?

3. Ive completed warcraft 3 and expansion pack, i really enjoyed there story, does WOW carry on from that? I would like to fight Arthas which i think is something to do with the latest expansion pack.

4. Will i be given a months free trial, or even more cause im getting all the expansion packs aswell?

5. Anything else i should know about, apart from this game could ruin your life:p

I can't give you any information about servers sorry.

As for best race and class, that's totally down to person opinion, but for a started I'd defiantly recommend a hunter because they're so easy to play and they wont frustrate you.... Although, their is a lot of them running about.

WoW does continue the story from WC3 and I'm pretty sure that eventually you'll be able to kill The Lich King.

With WoW you get 30 free days, with any other expansion you don't get any free days.
 
If you pick a class that can heal, groups will love you for it. It may start slow, especially for hybrids pre-Level 30ish but at Level 80 it really pays off.

I would say Horde, as there seems to be a general feeling that there are more 'n00bs' in comparison on Alliance.

PvP is fun but can be frustrating when your battlegroup seems to lose like 90% of their battleground games. So I would do a bit of research and see what the Alliance/Horde ratio is on each server, as well as the win % for each battlegroup they belong to. If you can't decide, then just play on whatever server your friends play on.

WotLK has many related stories to WC3, such as being able to relive the moment when Arthas purges the city of Stratholme.

Yeah theres a refer a friend. It gives the OP (or whomever) free 10 days and triple XP.

Yea, what m4cc45 said but since both accounts would be levelling to 60 anyways, they would only be 20 levels away from the end. The recruited account would have to level not one but two characters to Level 60 in order to give the original account all free 60 levels.

I've used this, and it is very useful. But mostly useful if you are levelling alts, not your first main. I used it just before WotLK to level another three new characters to Level 60; two which I levelled the 'normal' way and the last one using up all free 60 levels from my recruited account.

For newer players, the more useful benefit they would receive would be the Triple Experience, especially if they get a Level 80 class (preferably a Paladin) to boost them through instances over and over again.

Well if the person came on the same server then we'd make new characters and level them together - that way keeping the triple XP throughout without the need for another account. Also you wouldn't need boosting as well as you level unbelievably quickly.

At least thats the idea anyway!

Yea, that's what I said, the Triple Experience :)

What I was also referring to was the comment about the giving levels, where it only pays off once the other account has levelled at least one char to 60, as they gotta earn 2 levels just to give away one level, lol.
 
Like was suggested above I would try maybe hunter. Dranei Hunter is silly fast to level and you'll get to the more interesting bits faster.

Enhancement shamans are superfast to level too and can heal well enough for a long time in that spec.

Yeah - should also be noted that with the refer a friend you can teleport your friend to you (once per hour - for both characters) and also the trip xp only lasts to 60 (as does the teleport and as does the level giving).

P.S. With regards to classes it depends if you're doing refer a friend or not. If you are then pretty much anything to compliment the other (i.e. tank and healer) otherwise I'd suggest Paladin (as they are rock hard to take down and wear armour) or Mage (solid DPS and lots of ways to escape / crowd control).

Paladin also gets a free mount at level 30/31.

So you bought FF11 and WOW? You will have hours of fun, admittedly wow is a lot easier to get into and lvl/farm though a lot less rewarding.

Not the greatest server in the world but if you're looking for someone to help you < drop me a message and i'll be more then happy too.

All classes are good fun to play, Don't listen to people who tell you what you pick. Take your time picking your Alliance ;) character, Play a few classes if you like, see which you like the feel of.

There are 3 types of classes, DPS, Healers, Tanks.

Some classes can do more then one or even all three of those.
