I shouldn't post this yet, but within the week I should have enough money for the materials deposit on my custom build. 
I'm getting a copy of the Kirk Sand guitar that Chet Atkins used built for me. An original Kirk Sand would have set you back ~£4,000. This luthier builds as good a instrument for £950 (including materials).

It's very similar to that guitar. When Chet Atkins passed on, Gibson bought the rights to that model from Kirk Sand so they could manufacture the Chet signature.
It's basically the guitar that Richard Smith uses in this video.

Richard is also now friends with Ivor (the luthier) and has played his guitar.
