While it does appear that this is an 'omg look at me thread', which it is a bit. There is another angle to it...
So, first thing, I passed, first time with 4 minors :D go me.
Now for the nasty.
My current insurance won't cover me as I am listed as having a Provisional licence, which is no longer the case. So, online only for amendments and there is an issue with the web app so I cant update (brief details of current insurance are me as named second driver, which was accurate while I was learning and the father-in-law used the car most). Now, since it has become apparent from the current state of affairs that my present insurer is ... poor... can I start a new policy elsewhere and cancel the current one when those concerned pull their finger out, legally?

Bugger, sorry, the title is now vague :( I had meant to change it, apologies!

Thanks man, still need to sort this insurance problem out though :( I don't remember the rules on bashing other companies on here but suffices to say I wouldn't recommend the current insurer when changing your employment status causes your Epolicy to become inaccessible :(

Why don't you just ring them? Bet they will be able to sort it in about 30seconds. Internet pages cannot hear you scream.

Much quicker to ring them than to wait for the web page.
Honestly it took me over an hour to find a number that offers support for the website. You cannot do anything to your policy without using the website. Anyway, I did eventually get hold of their tech people and the problem is fixed. I will be paying a bit more and finding a better service when this expires in August.

How far into the policy are you? If you are over 6 months in, stick with them, it will be worth it for the NCB

When I passed I just phoned my insurance up and told them I passed, agreed to the increased premium and was out driving in 5 minutes. That's with Quinn-Direct. If you don't already know your premium will go up, by how much you have to find out. Also, as mentioned, you might as well carry on with your current insurer to preserve the NCB you've been building up.
