As an owner of SupCom I thought I owed it to myself to final buy the add-on. It's fantastic. It arrived today so when I got home from work I got it installed and started playing. 2hrs later and I'm still not finished the first mission! :D I can see many hours of my life passing buy with this game.

It's fantastic and I love the new layout to the game. I like how I can hide all the menu's off the screen to make it less cluttered. I like how it seems more intuitive to use and the ability to pause the game is nice. (I'm not sure if you could do that in SupCom). Graphics are nice and the gameplay is smooth!

But yes, for £17.99 I'm very pleased so far! :D

Thanks for reading my ramblings. lol.

tis much fun indeed :D
Just finished the second mission after 3 and a half hours (turtling tactics) and its running great on almost max settings.

aye it is a good game, I've literally just completed it and i thorougly enjoyed it, although it does pay to turtle, leave one last objective, build up your forces to max then complete the last objective before the map expands lol

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I just rushed ahead and finished one objective to find my forces were wiped out when the map expanded. should have defo made more units.

it is a really good game but the campaign missions really annoyed me, especially when you win the first phase only for the map to expand, and you either:
1 - get wiped out by the massive force of experimentals that appear
2 - your next objective is across loads of water that's just been revealed and you have totally the wrong units for and so have to spend the next hour building a navy

the good thing is you can fail a mission and still move on to the next though :D

even the main objectives? if so, does the story change at all? i.e some missions where you have to keep certain commanders alive etc?

I learnt my lesson in the original supreme commander with regards to building up an assortment of units before the map expands lol.

well in the first mission i got my commander killed (i took him across the sea and got killed by the experimentals that appeared when the map expanded the first time) and was still able to continue on to the 2nd mission! i think you just miss out on the video endings, you still get all the units and stuff.

another thing i like about supcom fa is that you get access to the whole tech tree from the start = all good!

I have completed the campaign already, and I started again the other day. First time was with the Cybran (Monkey Lord is great) and this time with the UEF (Mavor is awesome with it infinite range!).

New units/buildings are great as well. I play loads of skirmishes as well. I haven't enjoyed a game so much in ages.

If you play as the Aeon, you can use pretty much the same tactic throughout the entire game.
1. Defend against initial attacks and tech up
2. Build Paragon
3. Build 20-30 commanders with Rapid accelerators
4. Build 15-20 Czar
5. Move Czar in formation to an enemy base and watch them destroy everything

It is also fun to capture a Seraphim engineer and build a Seraphim quantum gate. 30 of their commanders are pretty much unstoppable with the right upgrades (Shield, nano repair and overcharge). After walking them through and demolishing an enemy base they are all still standing and most still have their shields active.

What i didn't like was its only 1 campaign it's not different for each faction.
Don't play either game online though it pales in comparison to company of heroes.

The campaign is a bit boring tbh, turtle up, use experimentals. Rinse and repeat.
The MP is where it really shines. :) Anyone here play it online/be up for a game or two some time?

A, good ol' Zoompreme commander. Can you still zoom in and out so uberly? That was all I liked about the original :p

Well, that's a little harsh but I *was* a bit disappointed. Does anyone know if there are any mods in the works to make it a bit more like TA?
